This is nothing more than a mere

acknowledgment of your letter of May 25th. I will

see that what you say about the New Territories is

put officially on record in the file. No doubt

if you wish to return to the charge after you have

studied the question further in the light of the

Foreign Office telegrze No. 303, you will do so

officially, as my letter to you records the latest

official decision at this ead.

With reference to the Compulsory Service

Bill, you will by this time have received our secret

telegram No.102 of the 30th of May deprecating an

early announcement.

The whole question is, as

explained in that telegram, under active consideration
